VISION STATEMENT

Meeting people where they are to help them discover where they CAN be!

ABOUT US

Our Story...

Founded as a 501c3 charity in 2020, Jane Around the World has been on a mission to meet people where they are and help them discover where they can be. This journey began in 2019 with Jane Khan, whose heart for serving others started at just 12 years old. Inspired by a deep desire to help the homeless and at-risk populations, Jane asked her parents for permission to take a group of friends out to serve on the streets for her thirteenth birthday. Her initial goal was simple — to deliver 1,000 care bags filled with essential items like soap, wipes, toothbrushes, deodorant, ChapStick, socks, band-aids, and always a note of encouragement. That goal quickly expanded to resourcing local shelters and ministries, and to date, over 6,000 care bags have been delivered to those on the streets and in shelters.

As Jane’s family continued to serve, they personally opened their home to foster children and became acutely aware of the tragic overlap between homelessness and foster care. Through this, they felt called to not only provide immediate relief but to prevent future homelessness by focusing on young adults aging out of foster care. Nationwide, 30% of youth aging out of foster care experience homelessness by the age of 21. In Texas, that statistic is even worse — 20% of these young adults are homeless at age 18 when they leave their placements, either voluntarily or involuntarily.

In response, Jane Around the World opened House of Grace (also Biblically known as Beth-Haran House) in January 2023, a transformational living home for young women aged 18–24 who have aged out of foster care or are at risk of homelessness. The goal is to bridge the gap for these young adults, providing safe housing and holistic support as they transition to independent living. Through a tiered program, Jane Around the World offers employment connections, financial coaching, therapy, mentorship, life skills development, case management, and more.

This is just the beginning of what God has planned. We’re on target to open a boys’ home in 2025, and we envision expanding to include transitional housing units to support young people as they move toward sustainable independence.
